CryptX 2.0 — where innovation meets challenge

Hackathon, Designathon, and Capture The Flag in one weekend — online preliminaries, an in-person Grand Finale on 4 April, and awards on 23 May.

Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura

CryptX 2.0 ran three competitions at once under one banner: a Hackathon, a Designathon, and a Capture The Flag. Preliminaries were held online so teams could compete from anywhere in the country, and only the Grand Finale was in person at the Faculty of Technology.

Three tracks, one weekend

Hackathon — teams of two to four take a real-world problem statement and ship working software under time pressure.

Designathon — teams of one to three solve a visual communication and user-experience brief and deliver a finished interface.

Capture The Flag — open entry, with challenges spanning web exploitation, cryptography, reverse engineering, and forensics.

How the edition ran

Registration opened on 22 February and closed on 14 March.

Preliminary rounds ran online from 21 March.

The Grand Finale was held on 4 April at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Awards were presented on 23 May.

The previous edition drew over 1,000 registrations from more than 25 universities and produced nine track winners.
