Designing for Impact: From Local Startups to Global Scale
A Designathon workshop with Mr. Vimukthi Liyanage on designing meaningful products that can grow from local startup ideas to global impact.
Designing for impact
As part of CryptX 2.0 Designathon, ICTS hosted a workshop on designing for impact: how thoughtful product design can help an idea move from a local startup context to a wider global scale.
The session was delivered by Mr. Vimukthi Liyanage, Product Designer at Booking.com. It invited participants to think beyond visual design and consider the people, problems, and real-world value behind every product decision.
What the session focused on
Designing around meaningful user problems
Turning local insight into scalable product thinking
Understanding the role of product design in startup growth
Building ideas with impact, clarity, and purpose
This workshop formed part of the learning journey leading up to the Designathon, helping participants approach their ideas with a stronger product and user-centred mindset.
